I experimented with tracking my eating with My Fitness Pal, here are some screenshots from one of the days of my tracking. Overall I don't think it was helping with my physical health, or my mental health. Tracking my eating an exercise was tiresome, it was a lot easier when you can scan barcodes on ready made food, but this obviously does not help my health. The kind of exercise that I do, is not easy to log - bouldering is not an option on here and I am sure I did not burn 2,200 calories in one go. I feel like tracking is quite dangerous especially in a world where very specific body types, increasingly athletic ones, are the most aspirational - and I for me, this encourages a feeling of never being good enough. I'd rather track something where I can get better, without this being directly about my body shape and size.
